Why We Created The BETA Service Cycle
Most marine service workshops still live by the ‘minor’ and ‘major’ servicing model. Sounds simple — but the reality is it rarely lines up with what your engine actually needs.
Minor services often over-service certain components by lumping together items that are not due in the interest of ‘simplicity’ — wasting parts, time, and your money. Major services tend to either get forgotten or ignored, leaving critical maintenance not completed. Even when the major service is done, the engineer has so much to do that they risk cognitive fatigue.
We thought there had to be a better way. So we built it.
What is the BETA Service Cycle?
The BETA Service Cycle (Better Engine Treatment Approach) is Proactive Marine’s 4-part servicing plan for inboard diesel engines. We’ve looked at the maintenance schedules of the major manufacturers and created an easy to follow, set and forget cycle that has it all covered.
