What's Included in a Driveline Service
We offer full driveline inspections and repairs for shaft-driven boats, from single-shaft launches to twin-drive vessels. Common services include:
- Shaft alignment and vibration correction
- Propeller shaft inspections, straightening and replacements
- Flexible coupling inspections and replacements
- Shaft seal replacements (dripless seals and gland packing)
- Gearbox oil pressure tests and output flange checks
- Diagnostics for vibration, knocking, or abnormal wear
- New installations and alignments

A misaligned or worn driveline doesn’t just reduce performance — it can lead to long-term damage in your gearbox, engine mounts, or even hull structure. It doesn’t take much for things to go wrong, and many vibration issues trace back to minor misalignments that grow worse over time.

Most marine gearbox manufacturers specify an alignment tolerance of just 0.003″ between coupling faces — that’s less than a sheet of A4 paper.
